The Kingston K-14 School District attended Special Olympics event on April 16, bringing together students, staff, families, and community members for a day of athleticism, inclusion, and celebration.
The event featured a variety of track and field competitions, including sprints, relays, long jump, and softball throw. Student-athletes from across the district showcased their talents and determination, embodying the true spirit of the Special Olympics.
“All of our students had the best time competing" said Special Education Director, Erica Hankins. "The day was perfect and so much fun!"
Volunteers, including teachers, parents, and students, played a crucial role in the day's success, assisting with event coordination, cheering on participants, and ensuring a smooth experience for all involved.
The Special Olympics not only provides a platform for athletic competition but also fosters a sense of unity and pride within the community. As the event concluded, smiles and high-fives were abundant, leaving lasting memories for everyone involved.
